What it takes

Credential
DSPS Cross Connection Control Assembly Tester registration
Training
At least 40 hours in a DSPS-approved course (theory, testing, maintenance, national standards), or an ASSE-approved course meeting ASSE 5150.
Exam
The rule requires the course, not a separate state exam. Approved providers (WRWA, WCCI) say their course includes the training and examination for Wisconsin registration.
Renewal
Every 4 years, expiring on the date of issuance anniversary. Renewal needs 6 hours of approved continuing education, entered by the course provider before you can submit in LicensE.
Fees
Renewal $180; late CE fee $25; reinstatement $200 (DSPS renewal table). Initial application and registration fees not confirmed.

Filing test reports

The state rule says testers follow DSPS procedures for filing results and keep each test record 2 years. Water utilities set their own intake; Madison asks for results to DSPS and the utility, Green Bay takes proof by email, mail or in person.
